Here is a good example:
ACT 6 puc sprung $514 MSRP + $140 shipping (cheapest for under 2 months) = $654 = R5101.80 + 20% duty + 14% tax = R6836.41

Its generaly not the importer, its the people that cant afford anything (or those that pick the cheap route on safety critical items), use substandard hack job rubbish that slit their own throat (actualy legs) off when they explode. Sad part is its usualy other people/spectators that are in the firing line when clutches explode due to people not knowing what they are doing by removing more than 5% weight reduction on cast iron flywheels or using jippo'd pressure plates that are not able to hold high HP... Ususaly those same people that dont use scatter sheilds either as required by MSA.

See, maybe the "importers" arnt trying to slit their own throats, they actualy trying to help you, the consumer,,,, who doesnt have the ability to purchase items in South Africa that both perform and are spec 1.1 or higher, not just for that extra 1kw, but actualy to protect you as well as your investment.

Got the clutch Kit today, Looks very nice I am very Impressed with the quality when compared to my custom kit when it was out the car

The pressure plate has Exedy printed on the cover, Also looks like it has a Velo imprint there as well, Hoping to have the thing installed next week also making sure the flywheel gets skimmed.

fair enough, sorry if i made a blanket statement there,im willing to concede that not all local importers are out to skin the local entusiast, but i have come across a few that only see $ signs when they wake up in the morning.. if i can buy exactly the same item for half the price from a overseas performance shop than i can locally from a performance shop, thats a 100% markup , and greedy in my eyes..

just something fyi, that i heard from some guys in the game, if you use double diaphram springs like in the pic above, your crank thrust bearings will wear out much sooner, i have no personal experience with this, just what ive heard.. :?

I really hope it works out for you, my reasoning apart from price and so forth, if I buy something local that does not work, I go back and do what I need to do to get the working item I paid for, in your case, if it only holds for 2 weeks, what are you going to do?

I suspect you'le just have to order a new one from somewhere else...
What is true is we have a lot of local bullshitters, it is up to us to not use them again and let others know what is happening. These places should not be in business.

I am sure, knowing you, you will have some reasoning, that is your right.

Frankly I don't know if it's the trueth or not, it make a little sense though, but I must say, me and Chem baught ours at the same place at the same time, in the beginning it was hard and shudderd a bit, after a month or two there is a big difference, much lighter on your leg and shuddering starts to disappear, I doubt that a month or so of "stiffness" will cause to much harm unless the bearings were olmost shot before it was installed.

Got the all four disks today was really surprised they came with Pads, Hope to install them next week some time.

Well looks like I got the first incorrect order from the states, I thought this was going to happen some time.

The rear Disks/Rotors supplied seems to be incorrect the centre section is around 10mm shorter then the stock rotor, all other dimensions are correct, I have contacted the company but I am not holding out any hope to have these replaced or money returned. From the info I can gather they seem to be the non ABS rotor/Disks but I have found sites out there saying they are interchangeable so I am just confused

hey PFB are you saying the hat is 10mm shorter?

meaning the disc surface area will be 10mm away from its normal position.

Kind of Very difficult to explain could be resolved easy using a spacer I think .

But the length it 10mm shorter, but everything I have read on the internet (Bad info possibly) says the ABS and Non Abs rear disks are interchanged but the ABS and non ABD have different pads
