i've never owned a nissan thats had a faulty starter, or one that needed a rebuild...

but i do tend to rebuild a lot of other stuff! go figure!!!

its the wetness :evil: oh i forgot, joburg got all the winter rain

anyhoo - :oops: - started my baby first time in a yonk.
great thing is after putting in new battery it started within 5 honjo-honjos!!!

AWESOME!

took it for a drive up to my lawn and MAN! it felt good!

AWESOME!

gave it a wash and it IS actualy white!

AWESOME!


i can die happily now... or last week... or last year...

Yeah its the starter. Had the same prob. quick fix really.
I kept a half a broom handle with me, when the 13itch didnt want to start id give the starter a couple "light" taps with a hammer and tada she started

ok, so this is the update:

Say I start the car in the morning, its starts good. Drive to the garage, turn it off. Then try and start it again.... iys dead. Push start it and it starts.

Get to work, work the whole day, get to the car and it starts again. Get home, switch it off. Try and start it again immediatly, its dead.

Next morning its fine again....

Starter then? Why when you leave it for a few hours does it start again?

When the car is warm the internals are expanded. This makes it more difficult for the starter to work. Maybe the start doesn't have the power anymore to start the engine after its warm?

I know when my sx is warm it always takes longer to start than when I start it in the morning when its cold.
