means that a specific cars suspension gets designed with a wheel with a certain offset in mind (designers choice) .. affects track amongst other things

you can go positive or negative offset using a different magwheel for instance, but stray too far from what the suspension was designed for and you could end up with adverse/unpredictable handling.. abnormal tyre wear.. tyres touching wheelarches ,ect..

sorry, dont quite know how to explain better than this, maybe someone else can give a bit clearer explanation?

Thats the mild stuff, worst case you can destroy your wheelbearings, last time we priced they were just under R2k EACH from nissan, and you cant get anywhere else.

off the top of my head i seem to remember that most nissans from the 90's
had a +40mm ish offset..

dont take it as gospel though.. :wink:
