oh yeah, side note..

making the gotech work with a CA18DET , you are going to have problems
with the coilpacks too.. the gotech pro has only 3 ignition outputs , meaning
you will have to run a wasted spark scheme.. (one coil fireing on combustion stroke, other fireing on exhaust stroke )
this has problems of its own,
because splitting a ignition trigger between two coils means less current to
properly charge the coil, which once again means weak spark at high rpm..

thanks 300,

i'm a 10 finger typer!!!

i reckon i can do it with a modified disc. i was thinking trigger per event, in other words, a 4+1 or a 4+2 setup.

you think that will work!???!

and here's the nice thing about gotech...

i emailed Louis from gotech, he said its no problem to change my gotech pro to the TS version, which has 4 ignition output drivers.

it will also cost nothing to make the change.

all i have to do is take the box in and they will change it for me!

now thats what i call aftersales service!

Thanks. I always said: the one mod leads to the other. Eish!! Not lekka.
So where and who cuts a new disc for the cas?

ah, now thats cool.. i didnt even know about that one
solves a lot of problems in one fell swoop.

uhmm.. sorry if i now sound stupid, elaborate a bit more?

basically its the way the dizzy triggers work, if i am correct.

4+1 - 4 holes to indicate cylinder at TDC - and an extra hole as an indication of when cylinder 1 arrives at TDC.

4+2 - same thing except there is a second hole at cylinder 3.

4+1 = batch firing injectors.
4+2 = sequential firing of injectors.

just thinking now.. if you will be changing for a gotech TS , why sell your coilpacks at all? 4 ignition outputs can trigger your nissan ignitor, so you can use the nissan stock system?

and so we come back to the reason for the existance of this whole thread.. 8)

oh yes, of course.. sorry
remember that you will need that cyl 1 tdc signal for the ignition too.. so yeah, 4+1 will work, i had my disc cut by an engineering works after making them a 1:1 scale templete.

of course, 60-2 combines both signals in one..

LOL - this thread lots its point a long time ago, and i will actually be moving it to the tech section!!!

thanks 300, i realised a while back that i wont be selling the coilpacks 1 cos the gotech can handle it, and 2 cos there has been no interest in the damn things.

i dont have a nissan ignitor - but thats ok, cos the gotech can fire the 4 coils directly!!!

all i need now is a custom disc - in comes gary57 stage right!!!

Other way round VC, 4+1 is sequential.
