Cant be very hard, we need to start shopping around, seeing that we know now that we can use the standard clutch to do it!
But Im going to phone the guys up north to hear what they say and get some prices.

it would be cool if the club could source 2 worn clutches, send it for build at the pta guys or even big boss, and send it to the poor chaps in cape town - sort of a supply chain or logisics solution and thereafter have the guys in cape town send their used ones up... that wud be a cool club effort...
the benefit of it should outway the distribution costs though...
surely there should also be someone up in jhb that have to rebuild a clutch soon...

I see REzlo addes some 6 and 8 puk performance clutches to his line now. S13 included but you're looking at roughly a grand. That's just the clutch plate.
Gary do you know what material those pta guys use on the clutches they make up?

I dont know about the PTA guys but then ones I got made here in DBN are natural copper fiber clutches.

Have a look here

I run a 6puk ACT clutch on my 300+whp and 400+NM SR20DET, daily driver which means for it to be bearable, the pedal pressure must only be slightly heavier than stock, which it is, and it grips like u cant believe. And they are not as costly as you might think for a complete kit.

I think that will be my next step, will standard pressure plate fit?? Just a normal swop?

yup stock one will fit,
but dont forget that the clamping force is determined by the pressure plate, not the clutch plate.
the friction rate is determined by the clutch plate - so only changing the clutch plate will greatly improve your clutch bite...
but getting an uprated pressure plate and clutch plate will make it that much better!

VC you can increase the clapping force by going with a 4 puk instead of a 6 puk.

Well said nurseboy

, it does not help you put in a R1000 made in durban carbon fiber indused titanium based reinforced gold clutch plate but you pressure plate can't keep the clutch against the flywheel....
