I'd take down the mileage of the car when it goes in. And I'll tell them that I'm deducting R1000 from the bill for every extra kilo in the car when I pick it up. Put it in writing and make them sign it. There is No reason for them to drive your car - period.
Take it from someone who's lost a car to a workshop who joy-rided it. It's not a position you want to be in. You loose out big time.
This is where something like skytrack comes in handy. In addition to being a tracking system you can see routes driven and the type of driving, braking etc.

Its all good and dandy making them sign something, but they can just as easily refuse to take your business if it puts them at risk. Something can just as easily go wrong with them not doing anything reckless at all and it will be up to you to prove that they had been reckless, frankly thats a can of worms you dont wanna open.
There isnt an easy way to tackle a situation like this, unless you have something aftermarket that can prevent misuse you're basically stuck trusting them with your car...

and now that we've gone onto two pages without going off topic...
lets speculate as to what Toby did with his SX, and the reason it needs a panelbeater.
i say it has something to do with his recent post to the new guy...

Naah man, I want to get the car into showroom condition. So basically dent removal, fixing of chips & scratches, and buffing, etc. Considered a re-spray but it's too risky. Any slight overspray and my car looks like it's been in a prang. Plus, there's nothing like being able to say - this is the original factory paint
Ok, so rev-limiter it is! I'll let you guys know how I come along with that. The waste-gate thingy sounds easy enough too, but I think if they wanted to go joy-riding, it's too easy for them to temporarily connect it.

Did what I did now the last time... while he is with you write down your Kilo's and stuff that he can see that you are doing so, and you mention to him that you don't want your car driven, and you'll be checking up on it with Tracker.

Yes, I suppose this is not an easy situation. When my car is at Maus. I know they at least test drive the car. And they also tell me that they did drive the car. Then I am happy with that. Yes, I trust them in full. Which I think makes a difference. Also, I am known to them since 1991. But yes, there will come a time when the car must go to another workshop, then we are back to square one.

Pull one of the injector plugs off. They can move the car but it will limp.

EVen if you limit the power, to the appy who drives a 1100 uno daily it will still be a fun to joy ride it.
If a panelbeater doesn't wanna sign an indenity that they won't drive your car then you need to go somewhere else. They're not a workshop - so there is absolutely NO reason for them to drive your car man.
Tell them you're running the motor in after a rebuild so NO ONE is allowed to drive the car.
I have some faulty coils you can put it too

Will make the car a missery to drive.

Doc try removing the 1 injector wire or even the MAF wire, it will make an 1100 look like a F1 car.

The problem with disabling the power is that the idiot gets in the car, takes a gap to pull out the shop cause he assumes there is some power, when there isn't, to he basically just pulled out in front of a car that he has no chance in getting out of the way off....
BANG!! there goes a mint S13.
Oh and I'd stay far away from Flirida Panelbeaters.
Also do some homework on Hellopeter before using any pannel beater.
Toby if the work is minor, can't you get one of these mobile companies to come to you to sort it out?
