if the second mark on the crank pulley is the 15 degree
Second Mark reading from left to right is TDC when standing in fount of the motor
Second Mark reading form right to left is 15 degrees when standing in fount of the motor

1 bar on the stock turbo is Madness in my eyes; anything over 0.8bar is going to heat soak the IC super quick and be just hot air.
But I’m sure Draco can sort you out in no time.

Also check you AFM maybe give it a good clean and pull some codes on the ECU maybe that can give more information
Possibly check the fuel pressure as well.

phinx beat me to it.

if you're facing the motor and looking at the second mark from the left its 0 degrees broo!!! wont run that well!!!

also, if you have pressure coming out of one of the vacuum pipes while hte engine is running then something is definitely wrong with your piping.

you actually dont really need to use the pressure solenoid. well, there's a whole bunch of stuff that can be removed from the engine, but thats a long story.

no-one has asked yet - is it a stock turbo. the same one from the factory, cos then sort that out first. i get the feeling it isnt stock, and if its bigger, then at 1 bar, there's no way the stock fuel pump and FPR can supply enough fuel for your engine to burn properly.

good luck!

Hi there

Got the timing right thanks for advice on the marks. I also modified the actuator arm and its now ajustable. Everything if smooth at .4bar but then i went and put it up to .8bar again witch is less smooth nicer but allmost drivable. If i want to dyno and so on who would you guys sugest? And whats best as after market pump and fpr and where do i find it:?:

In Pretoria there is 2 dynas I would suggest, smart racing and Maus performance, Maus would be best for a standard setup....for upgrades I would suggest smart racing, both is good I just prefer smart racing.

Walbro fuel pump for around R600 +-.
If you want a small ECU upgrade.....perfect power or unichip....unichip can be supplied by both mentioned on top, I am not sure if smart racing would be able to help with perfect power but I am sure maus can not, they only work with unichip as far as I know.

Good to hear you got the boost down, same problem as before?

Thanks Draco
Can you give me the addresses of these dyno guys? Have you had a chance to check out the vacuum lines for me?

Smart racing is on the danville tunnel road, the one that leads to the mobopane highway, don't know the name, as you enter claremont there is a shell garage on your left....they are right next to the garage.
Tel:012 3773430

Maus....they are in Rosslyn, best you call them for the adress. Tel:012 5424990.

Sorry I haven't checked, hospital issues, as soon as i remember i will check....hopefully today...

I have checked my layout....I have a jap spec engine, this means i have secondary butterflies, my setup is different than yours if you have the sa engine. I have disconnected the valve totally, I just use the pipe from the head to the FPR, if you deside to do this you need to block off the small black pipe that pushes into the air intake pipe of the turbo between the air filter and turbo that leads to the valve and also the small hole in the large air intake pipe.

If you don't want to follow this route, I suggest asking someone with a sa spec engine to check the pipe lay out.

Hope you get orginised....

PS. turbo & NOS can help with pumps at the same place as smart racing and also volkspares should be able to help with a pump aswell.....

So what you're saing is that i should connect the vacuum at the back of the intake manifold direct onto the FPR and blank the rest of? Wont there be to much pressure on the FRP under boost then? Im not trying to be full of kak yust would like to now.
Thanks

Are you fellas talking about this?

Image

just connect from the plenum straight to the FPR, it works fine like that. Its just a hot start solinoid. Just remember to block off the vac pipe that runs to the Turbo intake pipe as it will suck in un-metered air through there otherwise
