Well ok I don't mind organising a bit. Can I make my title photographer/events co-ordinator?!?! Been here a year and a promotion sounds cool! :P

Yes in fact if you take care of braaing I can take photo's of the uhm, event and pretty people :))

Can you please ask Toby to send out a mail and ask that people call me or mail me or PM if they are coming so we can just organise better. And can we just have that map back up because several of us couldn't find the post with directions on. I know where it is now but I'd like everyone to know exactly how to get there, can someone in this thread pls also post directions from Snake Rd off-ramp..I'm not going to try that ;)

The spot you talk about freddie looks small, what I mean is, there's not a lot of space there, so we need 1 of us to make it early or else we'll have to talk to Tim and check, maybe we can even make a reservation or something.

Saw a new member for our club at my potentially new Tuners shop here on the West Rand, when the car is finished I hope the guy joins. He is having a Gotech pro fitted so the car is out of action at the moment..it's another white S13  :P :P :P

If Tim doesn't have anything planned for the bigscreen I reckon we throw a PS2 on it and we can have drift challenges in D1GP cars.

Ok dudes, here's the deal for this weekend:

- We need up to FOUR drifters for Saturday 12th Jan (not one like I'd initially stated). Who's in?

- You can go practise at the Rock on Friday after 3pm (other days can be arranged with Tim). They got lights now.

- A one-event licence costs R50, but an annual licence costs R160. If you want an annual license, go apply for it on Friday 'cos it takes a day or two to organise. Note that your car will be checked for oil leaks, loose wheel studs, etc. Anything that could cause problems on the track.

- While optional, they highly recommend you take out insurance cover. It costs around R350 for R50000 cover or R560 for R100000 cover for a year (I think).

- Plans for Saturday - We need to be there latest by 4pm. Since we're going earlier, this shouldn't be a problem. We're expected to stay at least till 6pm (especially the drifters).

Let's finalise the plans so that I can send out a mail. I suggest that we once again meet up at Shell Ultra on N1 SOUTH and drive from there. I suggest a time of 2pm so that we get to the track by 3pm latest. That will give us time to setup the braai, etc. Any objections?

PS: Thanks qewrty for helping with the organising!

Just from past experience I recommend someone try and phone some of the drifters to try and organise, if you leave it to them to come to you you're gonna be waiting a long time!

VC and I would love to be there, but we have a pre booked appointment with a Bravarian bitch... :P

Sorry if this is a noob question, but do the drifters require a liksensie for the 15mins? Also where can we find out about this insurance thing it sounds cool.

If we get to the track at 3pm it would be cool, literally, because the sun is heading down, but no hope of getting a good spot so late, but we can make a plan.

As for the drifters, Stephen let us know if you can get hold of Bruno. I'll phone around later but it's looking fairly dismal at this stage.

If we have 1 or 2 drifters and just a small convoy of sx's it should still be cool, at 16:45 we all drive onto the track make a slow show lap then just park [somewhere uhm, safe on the track] and let the drifters do their thing.

Toby I think we have enough details for the mail to go out. 2pm at the Shell N1 south, bring and braai. Also mention that drifters should contact us. We'll try to phone the ones we know about like VC sez but you never know who sees the mail.. ;)

Moral support and joining the convoy 16:45 on the track, I can remember when I first saw this at Wesbank when the drift club pitched up.

Is the drift club that Florin started still around? Haven't checked their forum in yonks. Where's Jayboy and the guys with the rx's?

Sounds like a great event... Will definitely make a plan to make it... Won't make it with the SX though... unless it is cool to drive around without the makeup (not finished painting)...
Ahhh VC I see why it's so easy for you to get past 3000 posts...your p.a types quite fast...lol
