If the interior still has most of the stock parts and you absolutely have to have the car. Offer 13500 r at the very most.

Unless a given sx has a high quality paint job, one of a kind wheels, rare tires, as well completely custom interior, won several "Best of Show" awards and been featured on national television and several magazines. 40K is a ripe off for an sx.

clearly you dont understand the situation in south africa.
our cars are expensive, there's no doubt about that. i often say this is brought on by the fact that the motor is protecting itself by banning cheap used import cars from places like japan.
so in order to get an s13 in south africa, you have to find one that was spefically imported by nissan as a new car.
i've often heard that an average car bought on an average salary by joe average in the states, takes about 8-10 months to pay off.
the same situation rarely takes less than 48 months in south africa, in fact its usually 60 months. thats a huge difference.
my point is that we stupid south africans have accepted our car situation and the high prices, and we think that 40k for a normal used 200sx is acceptable.

You hit the nail right in the head VC. It's very true.
I must say, I could of gotten one for R25k or something like that, but it didn't look good and the driver was a very young guy, a bit windgat, so ja the car was not in a good condition.
I then just thought to myself way not save a bit extra and by a better one, and i did.
@goldeneagle - I could of bought the same condition SX in the USA for R15000 but ja our import motoring industry SUX!!
