Try this....drive your car to about 230km/h then brake hard go to an offramp and try and brake some more....
Please don't do that, the answer is the sx brakes badly....it will get you in big trouble or dead...
As for the coilovers, are you going to drift....drag regularly....if no...don't waste your money...if you are...spend the money and make it safer for yourself.

I beg to differ , if you drive the car like a normal person the brakes are fine.
I will agree that on a track the stock units will "fad" early but how many times do you see serious track time.
In normal day to day traffic ,Driving like a normal person the car can more then handle the abuse.

It is true, drive it 60 or 120 and brake slowly, should be fine unless you have to brake hard a few times....o boy even a normal person will learn....

my brakes have been alright in all forms of driving that i've done with the car.
i really am not sure what all the worldwide whining is about.
these cars stop well, not brilliantly, but not poorly either.
it concerns me that the guys who are experiencing brake fade on the streets are driving like complete fukwits, and thus endangering themselves and those around them.
so i agree with phinx on this.
but if you are going to increase your engine output, you do need to make the appropriate suspension and brake improvements to match your new power improvements. i've concentrated on those safety aspects before improving the engine, and i think everyone should do this too!

I can get my moms automatic 1500 golf to brake fade in the 400m to the cafe and back... 2 circles 2 humbs and the 3 90degree turns...
doesn't take much effort to overheat the brakes on a heavy car like the SX... but on my new set of Ferodo Premium pads i've been lucky and havn't had them fade on me yet... the ATE's easy 2 quick stops = FADE
Surprisingly on the track it took 3 laps, guess the turns was far enough apart to let the brakes cool down enough.

Im not gonna drift... much. And im only gonna go for minor mods on the motor. So maybe just performance brakepads and a 20mm lowering kit?

I still have the original brake setup, barring Ferrodo Platinum pads, and the abs which has been disconnected. I have no issues with Traffic driving even.
I have to say though that my ABS unit, or distibution unit has been reallocated to the drivers side to ensure the fluid does not get warm. The rest of my brake lines are wrapped in asbestos wrap.
I think the SX brakes better than my brothers VR6 (which has huge discs in comparison to the SX).
I wouldn't mind an upgrade in this area though...

...only referring to brake lines in engine bay close to Turbo which have been wrapped...

Brakefade can be reduced by upgrading the rubber hoses, brakefluid and pads aswell,

So just change the pads then?

Had serious brake fade with Nissan OEM pads, switched to Ferodo Ceramics, nothing yet. Yes I drive like a maniac
