Send it in to a sparky (auto electrician) the over haul alternators all day.
yes, do that. Got a quote for about R650-00. I decided to do myself. Replace the bearings and walla. But yes, rectifier? Are you sure that is also down?

Yes cos my alenator is at an auto electrician but they cant find pirot part parts for the thing

Try match up with another type, who makes the alternator?? If its bosch call them with the part number.

Great at least you on the road again, but these guys held you ransom, they knew if the kept you going for long enough you would pay enything to get your car going again!
