Yip, even after I skimmed the front dics... With new Nissan pads it gone, but the 1st time under continues hard braking, they overheat and then shudders.
I have never heard of pads causing a shudder, ever. The reason I ask is since I fitted my Z32 calipers I have a brake shudder. Now I just put it down to the fact that I might be braking on a new part of the disc.

The reason I have never heard of pads causing a shudder is because pads can wear in to suit the disc.

Anyone else got any views on this before I order my new discs??
Did you check the torque setting on the front wheel bearings? Loose/worn wheel bearings also cause shudder.

ps. got the t-shirt

My two cents you don't want any pads that "Bite" at the back, general pads should be good enough...

Pads that bite will give you the same feeling as pulling up the handbrake while approaching the apex... Not good

i've actually been using that as a new technique to initiate the drift!!!

approach the corner faster than normal, clutch in, brake hard, catch the rear as it swings around and then use the power to keep the rear out.

works nicely, but i still need to master it.

i was just hoping to find ferodo, instead of the crappy noisy pads i have in there currently. i think they are ATE or something! you need about half a tube of copper slip on the back of the pad to prevent the squeal!!!

Hi Guys first time hereon your site.About the pads, yes its true about the hilux 2.7 ktze front pads working. The S14, 300zx,skylines gtsT take the same front pads cause they all have the same calipers.I had a R33 skyline and used the hilux pads as a quick fix they work BUT the squeel like hell when you brake when they are cold and yo only brake lightly. With the button clutch i had the car was pig to drive slow and in traffic.SOLUTION moor the car hard, brake late and hard ,had no squeel no shudder and lots of fun. well thats my 5 cents worth
