Some news about the old turbo, started it again today with the air filter intake off, while it was idling the compressor wheel was spinning as I also mentioned before, today I decided to try and slow down the wheel by stopping the shaft with my fingers, there is plenty torque to the compressor wheel but I can stop it, as soon as I leave it, it starts spinning again, to me it's clear the shaft has not snapped, it seems to me the exhaust wheel is minus some fins and that is why it's not building boost..minus some fins might be an understatement.....

Bud, if the turbine has some blades missing your whole turbo would be beyond fubarred right now ! It would vibrate and disintegrate most spectacularly !
Your turbine shaft is ok..no broken or missing blades.

Hey cuz, the rattling and whining is most probably tumble and or a crack on your wastegate port.... Had the same shit on my buddy's KKK on his opel.... U gonna have to take off and see my friend..... Even a hairline crack would do it.....

You could get it welded but not to great for reliability..... Usually caused by.....

Tumble: Turbo flutter causing excesive wear on bushes n stuff
Crack: From not warming up and down or running turbo in properly or sufficient oil flow due to the same reason

Both can cause bad boost leeks causing the loud wistel or whining

If u got external wastegate though, then welding up the std wastegate port would work nicely, or the crack if no wastegate port on turbo

P.S. Could be under correction but that's from my experiance....
Hope it not bad though and u can get it sorted chop chop, looking forward to riding wit ya cuz...

I don't have an internal wastegate, mine comes streight out of turbine..into downpipe...

Pity about the turbo mate, hope you come right with another one.

I've been looking out for those low profile "racing" jacks but they seem hard to come by. Tired of struggling to jack up my car as well now
