sorry okes but i just had to post this.. 1956 VW Karmann Ghia.. it was my second project car, came out exactly as planned and i was in love :P , didnt make huge power, but it had enough torque to lift the front a little on launch, ate a few S2000's in its time.
Orange used to be my favourite colour.. now its second only to Matt Black :) Good times...

Exhaust is done, i like it, neat and looks fairly mean coming out the side, jap purists probably wont like this ... but i dont care :)

Cage still needs to be finished off, but we'll sort that after its running properly. It got towed back up to Gary's for W/M install and Final tune, .. if i dont need a new Head Gasket that is, fingers crossed.

i was out driving the car while Gary was tuning it from the passenger seat, .. i may have been driving a little too aggressively for the loose battery... it touched the roll cage and caused the main earth wire to catch fire, luckily (kinda) i put the fire out with my hand... "kill switch" WILL be installed before we drive again! and we need a new battery :( But Otherwise the car is going well, it was basically the second time ive driven the thing, suspension is really really good and boost is nice and smooth...nearly there.. fingers crossed - it should be ready for Hesketh next weekend, and hopefully my hand too.

Wasn't that Karmann Ghia featured in SNS back in the day? It looks familiar, great colour.
Diesel power, hmm, yes, I think I'll have some of that.
