So now you know how he does it....yogesh wrote:this is all legit,
i know somebody that knows somebody that does this, its actually much cheaper,
got a wrx sti subaru for 50 000 and another 6k for the papers,
the nigerian guys are doing it at their dealerships, getting cars out from JAPAN and bringing the cars to LESOTHO, and from what i believe it is very easy to change plates from LESOTHO to SA, that hows its done,
so basically what is done is that the dealer arranges that they car be registered in someones name in Lesotho, once registered in Lesotho ''you, the buyer'' then in actual fact are buying a car from ''lesotho'' and not Japan, although technically from there. so by buying from Lesotho its way easier to bring it into SA.
takes 2 months to get the papers for the car, so just lay low a bit with the cabby.
Reason why they are able to get the cars so cheap out of JAPAN is because JAPAN and surrounding areas are enforcing strict c02 laws, and also lifespan of car used is 2 years give or take and people upgrade, so they try to get rid of those cars older then 2 years and sell them cheap, so importantly we dont know the condition of the car etc before getting it and seeing that everything is cash there is no sort of refund.
this is a bit of a tricky ans sticky situation one could get themselves in, for example this friend of mine had this car for about 6 7 months and picked up a bearing knock, 50k gone down the drain,
also bear in mind where will you find parts for these imports? they are not the same as local parts, maybe some are but not all.
All good mateWhite Fang wrote:Sorry ! About Caotain span die Seille .
