Good on you going for something different, Turbo V8 sounds mental.... Even if it might be a 1UZ

When it comes to building cars every person have their own standards, thing is with a project car is that there is always room for improvement, no matter how hard or long you, or any other person have been working on the car.

I am sure if I had to sell my car, the next person would also change things to their liking.

Yes, I`m afraid it is a Lexus. But it has been built properly , Argo rods, Cp pistons, ARP stuff and worked heads.
I had built the engine for an Alfa Romeo project but in a year the Tjooners could not finish it for me. Cut the complete fire wall out and that's when I gave up.
Started looking for something else for the engine and ended up getting the SX..
I`ll miss the wail of the RB but it is going to be rather nice.. :wink:

toyota 1UZ-FE + R154 mission 486lbs
+ W58 mission 466lbs

RB25DET Alone
+ Five Speed 700 lb complete

from Skylines australia :

RB25DET = ~228Kg Dry with turbo, manifolds etc
RB25DET 5 speed = ~90Kg Dry

SR20DET = ~150Kg Dry with turbo, manifolds etc
SR20DET 5 speed = ~72Kg Dry

S15 6 speed should be a little more

And some comparison engines with turbos/manifolds

2JZGTE = ~268Kg
VH45DE = ~230Kg
CA18DET = ~130Kg
VQ30DET = ~162Kg
LS1 = ~174KG

:roll: so put one in your gtr

its less than 100kg diff incl gearbox, unless the sr makes power and needs a rb box, then its even less

good choice on the 1uz, makes tons of low down torque, the n/a one in my colt makes 350+ n/m from 2000 to 5500 peaking at 420nm

Very sensible choice of engine. 500 n/a hp easily available. For the money I have spent on the Lexus I could have had a 400hp LS1 with awesome potential.

Nelson Racing Engine`s ftw !

Is the Ikea shifter going to work on whatever box you have mated to the V8?

No, it is Nissan specific. :(
