ALTERNATOR OVERHAULED:

Bigger bearing replaced:

Smaller stator bearing replaced:

Brushes hold back with a thin piece of wire. It took me some time to catch up to manual how to to this??? :roll: :roll: :roll:

Now only turbo exhaust housing to be addressed. Then its time.
I posted wanted t28 turbo exhaust housing. May be I am lucky.
I really want to go that route specificly to keep up with the Jones's :D :D

Ja I like the T28 idea... ummm Rezlo is selling some used ball bearing units... Price wasn't bad... but again dealing with him is like taking a cat for a bath.

some might prefer the cat route, but then again, you could always buy product from some of his associated peeps!

and chemcool, i knew overhauling an alternator wasnt so hard!!! if i gave you a set of new "complicated" internal electronics, how difficult do you think it would be to swap them out???

Electronics is my baby. My forte( but our club president is better). CA18 DET rebuilt is out of my range. But I tell you-- this rebuilt story is the one never going to be out of my mind for years. But I have to mentioned that knowing there is wisdom around you, like club pimps, club presidents and moderators and administrators, makes the dream come real. Thanks to all. Must admit I do experience some butterflies the closer it comes to the swop! Which I always said is a good thing. It will be now or never.

I said it before. In 1991. When the engine compartment was open I use to say:"you cant work on this engine. To complicated".

a brand new out the box blue sx. very very lekker pieter!!!

i dig those blue ones, you hardly ever see them nowadays!

that, for the noobs, was chemcool's first sx, bought brand new in '91!!!

I tackled part of the turbo the past weekend. This is the exhaust housing .64
