Sure , but the car was running perfectly. I just had to be an asshole and replace them because 1 lifter was intermittently noisy. How can everything go pear shaped just by changing the lifters ?!?!? I have put the old lifters back , but of coz didn't mark and put them back in the same place, so now I have even less compression than I did with the new ones.

AAAAAAAARRRRRRRGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHH !!!!

When she eventually starts , I am going to smoke the rear tyres all the way down to the inside of the bloody rims !!

I decided to make 1 last attempt at starting my beast by using this link - ( Mimento - http://forums.nicoclub.com/zerothread?i ... id=3656765 ) to bleed the lifters and make sure that I have 16 solid bled lifters in the car.

When I removed the CAS the shaft and the bearing stayed behind in the cam. How the hell it snapped in half , I couldn't tell you, probably from all the swinging, but now I desperately need a Cam Angle Sensor.

And after I get one I must still get compression by hoping that the lifters will be right.

Thanks to Riaan from the Strand. I got a CAS from him yesterday , Even with an almost flat battery , she fired up first click. I am going to smoke the rear tyres now like I promised and then weld the bonnet shut ! :!:

Thanks again to all.

Cheers guys .

See you on the roads in my "SHE-DEVIL"

Thanks guys. That CAS must have broken when I originally put the car back together after installing the lifters. She started and ran for 3 or 4 seconds and then it was backfiring and then dead.

Anyway , now she is running like a demon again and the lifters are dead quiet and I just scared the crap out some guys, running the length of my road with the ass snaking from side to side.... as promised !

HEYYYYY .

If I new how to, I would load a video of her spinning and show you :!:

What is the best place to get a FMIC kit in Cape Town ? I don't wat to pay Motorcade R5000.

I won't be doing it now anyway, this little lifter jobbie cost me enough, as well as stressed me out beyond belief. My medicinal bill went up quite substantially ! glug glug

Take a breather and recover before you start the next stressfull experience....

Just to tip you off...I had a lot less stress then most when fitting my FMIC....I did not remove bumpers, I did not relocate batteries....63mm pipe out from turbo underneath cross bar throuh intercooler under crossbar up to throttle body. Just needed to do minor cutting with a small angle grinder to fit FMIC.

Made hinges from flat bar to hold FMIC and walla.....took me two days.....if you have a welder and all the bits you can do it in 1/2 a day.

Got my own workshop , but I still don't want to give myself headaches, that is why I want to buy a FMIC kit for an S13 , so that minimal modifications will be neccessary. I don't want to have to relocate the battery , etc.

And I am difinitely taking a break until next year. My wife told me to leave the car alone now when it wouldn't start and tackle it again next year , but I couldn't take the lying awake at night thinking of what I am going to tackle next to get her to run. Now I can enjoy my Christmas without my baby standing "stukkend" in my workshop.

Did you buy a kit ?
