I have the turbo from the SR20 W10 the sleeve type (14411-1E001).
Tell me, is there any noticeable difference in spool compared to the BB turbo (14411-WA200)?
Yes i know you all most probably sighing because this is probably a commonly asked Q but Pleeeeeeeeeeeeease help me.
And is there anybody that has one up for grabs(the BB Turbo)??

Hey

fistly... I think you are speaking about a T28 rather than a T25....SR20's did not come out with a T25....

2ndly....General info shows that a BB turbo spools up faster than a normal turbo, how much faster it spools up I don't know, thus, if you can get a GT28RS (BB turbo) and are willing to pay around R10 000 for it, jollie good!!!!

Check out the "Journal Bearings vs. Ball Bearings" section at the bottom of this article by Garrett. It gives a good comparison of journal bearing and ball bearing turbos.

W10 and W11's did actually come out with t25s. w11 got a full BB one and makes just as much power as a GTI-R motor stock. 169kw at 9psi. The gti-r makes the same power on 11psi, although the gti-r had a touch more torque.

w10&w11 motors are FWD sr20dets from the bluebird, and avenir cars. For the price, it's a bargain. If I didn't rock a VE in my fwd car i'd have dropped in a w11 ages ago

Ok so where can i get the BB T25 in South Africa?
Im sure you guys are running these turbo's on your cars.
I went to Jap Auto trading and they only had the rear wheel drive SR20 motors, and they didn't look the same from what i saw, so i must have the front wheel drive SR20's turbo.
Come on guys........
Must i post pictures?

Most guys here run stock T25g turbo's on their cars. When the turbo's go everyone usually upgrades to a T28 or better. Not much sense in sticking with T25.

Japan Auto Trading has loads of FWD turbo motors. Did you walk around and look for yourself?

The BB t25 motors are a bit more rare than the journal bearing one, and I doubt they will pull a BB off a motor and sell it seperately anyways. Are you going to buy a compete FWD turbo motor just for that turbo??

The only way to identify the turbo is by looking at the part numbers on it. They look pretty similar from the outside.

I walked around, they had 3 RWD SR20 motors and 1 FWD SR20 with no turbo.
They dont have any T25 turbo's lying around unfortunately.
Like i said, i cant tell the difference either, its only the Part No. that gives it away....
The T28, what is its Part Number(ie. GT1532??) so that i can check the specs on the garrett site?

Are you talkking about Japan Auto Trading just off the griffin road offramp? I was there about a week ago and I saw at least 5-6 Avenir motors on the display floor. About 5 x Sr20De's, 3 x SR20VE's and about 4 x RWD SR20DET.s

Downstairs there are at least a dozen SR20VE's and half a dozen DEs and DETs.

The part numbers (as in your first post ^^) on the turbo's can be seen from the front of the motor on the Avenir motors. But like I said, I doubt they would take one off a motor for you. They don't strip complete motors at all.

I don't know the T28 part numbers, but if they do sell real Garett T28's please let me know. I'd be keen on one too.

There was many n/a SR20's on the floor i'll admit, but because im looking for only the turbo, i walked through and targeted the Turbo Engines.
I know they wont sell the turbo seperately, but at least i tried. :D :D
