Re: When in Rome
Thanks okes. Dream come true.... next time I go back I need a roll cage and more power!
Such a sketchy setup there though, little to Zero marshals on and around the track. the tourist sessions almost feel like they want you to wipe out because they make serious cash off you when you do. if you just touch the Armco anywhere around the track they charge you for replacing it and the charge you for track downt time while the repair it immediately. if your 'off is at all serious the cops arrive and do their thing. your car usually gets impounded and you get charged for the tow truck, release fees etc. Luckily none of this happened to us but we witnessed at least 30 off's ranging from Armco kissing to all out cars rolling down the track ... bikers coming off at pretty much every corner... the ambulance sirens become a normal sound as do track closure periods. But I loved it .. way to much. the vibe is just so awesome... I mean its completely different to what I know for instance... car girls!!! hardcore! chick car crews, even solo chicks rocking up at the track with there own caged out Ring beast... and they were usually HAWT! But even better is the HOT cars.. just flippen everywhere.. all the little villages around the area have more caged cars than normal cars hanging just about.
To the Gamers .. Gran Turismo fans etc... all the years I spent playing the ring on GT5 definitely paid off as far as muscle memory goes, I was very confident going through the high speed sections. The BIG difference came in with the hills & dips ... with regards to elevations all the Sim's i've played don't give you anywhere near the sense of doing it for real, that said.. even when you watch the videos you cant see the elevation changes .. or should I say feel. The Ring is so Steep in sections its crazy, and theres quite a few 'jumps and places where the car gets very light.
