Important Engine mount clarity

Post by Gary57 »

Hey guys,

Thought I would share my findings with regards to replacement engine mounts for the S13.

I first off replaced my stock mounts with KA24 Megan Racing mounts, these are the same as SR20 mounts, these mounts measure 77mm high. Then sold these mounts and got the Nismo mounts specially for the CA18, the part numbers are different between the SR20 and CA18, #540 vs #520. The SR20 mounts can be used on the CA18 but will raise the engine up. New Nismo mounts measured 69mm high. Quality wise the Megan racing mounts were equally as good as the Nismo, I would have no issue in using the Megan mounts if they fitted. I do think the Megan mounts are stiffer though, when fitting them it was difficult to get any flex out of them, but the Nismo flexed slightly.

Mount heights

Old worn CA18 = 66mm
Nismo 520 = 69mm
Nismo 540 = 74mm
Megan = 77mm

Hope this helps prevent a few of you guys wasting your money on the wrong mounts.
