CANCELLED - BMW Club KZN - Sibaya Autocross - 3 July 2011

Post by Guy »

Hey guys, the event for Sunday the 3rd July has been cancelled. Future events will still be going ahead.
Sorry guys
The Autocross planned for this Sunday 3rd July is cancelled!

Due to new Government legislation in terms of the SASREA Act, section 8 and section 6 (3) - (all stuff beyond our control) the controlling body (MSA in this case) is now required by law to to get a permit from the South African Police after having notified them (the police) in writing of the proposed event.

Unfortunately the wheels of Government do not turn quickly and our Club has been notified that whilst MSA has tried to shortcut the process, the SAP permit will not be issued in time for us to hold the event.

MSA informs us and I quote "failure to comply with the act may result in both criminal and civil action being taken as set out in the act" and as such they are understandably unwilling to take the risk of issuing their event permit without having the SAP permit in their possession.

So whereto from here?
We have notified MSA of the future dates - 21st August, 16th October and 20th November so there is no reason why the necessary permission for those dates should be any problem.
If you have paid and entered, your entry fee will be held in credit for the next event - 21st August.

Once again guys sorry to have to cancel at short notice, but unless we have all the necessary permission, this Club simply can not take the risk.

We thank you for your understanding in this matter.
Cheers
