Power window Problem

Post by SMKNG ACE »

Ok Guys.

My Drivers side power window is stuck in the up position and do not want to go down on my S13
It was working fine one day up it goes and there it stayed ever since.

I have searched for the fix on my Drivers side power window and found the Black box with relays inside that control the up and down of the windows passenger and drivers side and tends toe give problems so i removed it and cant see a problem with the unit but i did find that the contact points where black on the relays so i cleaned them with some sand paper.
i will go and re solder all the joints and then test if it solves my problem.

And to come by a spare one seems to be pretty slim.

I see that Doctor G on the forum had a problem with his couple years ago not sure if he solved it or not ?

Any suggestion or help will be much appreciated. [smilie=200sx_200sx.gif]

Sometimes it's just the window switch not make contact

Thanks guys.
Update on this.

I removed and cleaned all switches an the relay amp or whatever it is called and tested it it give good signals to the motor but the motor is still not working even tried direct voltage to it and nothing....So i will be taking it out and replace or attempt to fix it .

Any one knows where i might find new one ... will buy 2 and replace either side.
Thanx again for the help.

There might be a possibility of your window motor being jammed. Check if there's power going to the motor itself
