Vag ignition cop's on SR20 det

Post by koos »

Hi Guys,
I recently replace Nissan oem cop's with VAG R8 cop's and like to share with all interested.
Plug gab before the change max 0.76 mm before blow out spark and now after the change 1.1mm with no problems.
The coils got their own build in igniters and should work on oem ecu by removing the Nissan igniter ( according to info on the internet)
I use Perfect power management and need stronger signal to switch the coils so build my own "booster"
The coils fit very nice and only Little bit longer then the oem's, need to fit small extender to the original rubber seal to made it water tight. Just to high to fit the coil cover.
Over all, engine start easier and notice over all more smooth when driving and idle. Coils cost about R500.00 each from Goldwagen, Golf connectors to fit coils?

If more info needed or photos email koos@egate.co.za

Very nice.

I run LS1 coils but they require leads, also a lot more than R500ea.

Post some pics...
