I am sourcing bearings, valve stem seals, gaskets and oil seals.
I have decided to open up the motor and have a look what is going on there, it's never been opened in 20 years!! also I have something going on when the motor is cold, like a lifter (most likely) or a slight bearing ...

Forgot to add, I did remember to fill the box up with oil before I drove off with my new clutch ;)

Nirvash, you have a very good point. here's another spanner in the works,
It is noisy in 1'st, 2'nd, 3'rd, NOT 4'th, 5'th.

2'nd and 5'th are the worst, 1'st is almost as noisy but then again certain internals in the box are rotating at their highest velocity.
