Seems like you have a good list now.

But there is more. Get friendly with a mchine shop. Get the block and head checked: bores, straightness, crank journals, cam lobes, head warping and crack testing, cam journals, crank float, cam float.

Crank bearings, piston rings, water & oil pump....if you going to do the job, do it properly. May be expensive but at least the engine wont go pop because you decided to save money by re-using a part that causes the failure.
Good point. Do it right the first time or do it twice...

waste of time!
for that money you can get a sr20 put a nice turbo and some other goodies and the car will be faster then a stock 2jz.

In my opinion its definitely not a waste of time. Having the fastest car is not my goal. Above all I want reliability and drive-ability.

Toyota can get if you got the part numbers. Donnie (RBSX) is selling a 200sx with a 2jz in. Save you the work of doing it.
