Well there's a piece of metal inside the manifold wich guides exhaust gas into the turbo. You can see it when you look into the manifold and that is where its cracked...but it looks as though the crack might grow to the outside of the manifold! Hi all, the exhaust manifold on my CA18DET cracked and I'm urgently looking for another one! Do any of you know where I can find a secondhand one?

While were on the topic of tightening the nuts..I never used a torque wrench on my manifold coz there's no way to get one in between the turbo and engine to tighten the manifold nuts. So what do I do? Do I just use a spanner and tighten them as tight as I can? What do you suggest?

I recently had my manifold skeemed. I had it checked first though and you could clearly see the manifold surface was not straight, this was after the gaskets blew only once! Also, I checked the oil feed to the turbo and it's fine..It's brand new, replaced it about a week ago.

Definately a blowing noise and not a mechanical whine..very sure it's from the exhaust! It's only there when I put my foot down and only under boost. As soon as I close the throttle the noise is gone, regardless of wich gear i'm in or what speed i'm doing. The exhaust is a custum 57mm piece..
