Sorry gents, I had a hard time with that and had a incredible urge to rather watch paint dry or a moth sleep.

Re: Our weekly run to Zwartkops-
We should of left with you, we went from spot to spot to just wait????? The drive home was fun though
Re: Our weekly run to Zwartkops-
What a waste of time and energy ! Max My Ride Magazine cannot organize for sh*t.
Arrived at the meeting point in Benoni at 7 am.
At around 8:40 am I decided enough ! Got the Nissan guys together and left , at least get some road time in. We headed for the on ramp and noticed two of our guys missing. Went to fill cars with fuel. Waited forever , Stephen got gatvol and went home, we eventually left and continued to the first petro stop. Had brekky and a pee, when everybody also pitched.
A bit of a spirited drive to Witbank from there though. Got to a fuel station and there was just not enough parking for everyone.
Overheard the garage owner bitching big time that clients could not get in for fuel and he was losing business. I mentioned this to the head honcho of Sticker and Speaker , laughed it off as if it was tuff titties.
Dude, not the way to organize a run . I do not think they went out to the venue or scouted meeting points for this at all.
Left the garage meet to go up the road to a shopping center . This is where Grant, John and I said fcukit, and left back home. It was by now 11:30 am.
I believe the destination from there was the Casino.
An hours driving, 3 or more just standing about.
As Grant says, the drive home was memorable.
These guys want to make this a success ? Plan it better, scout your destinations before hand and have your plans in order. Time lines for everything guys, the first one went belly up this morning when departure was postponed for almost an hour..
All in all, a crappy day.

Re: Our weekly run to Zwartkops-
This is so not cool... Sorry to hear about this to all the okes that wasted their time.
I've also been involved with organising events in the past few years and it's amazing how people adopt a mentality of "ag someone else will sort it out..." Bad planning, faluire to take responsibilty and control are the main causes for event faliures like these.
These failed events kinda set the precedent for others to follow and when an event is not well planned / run / attended, people generally lose interest as they always refer to the previous event that had a poor turnout or was a complete flop.
Good reliable sponsors are not that easy to come by. If a fee has to be paid to host and event, then guys who are really keen will pay a reasonable fee to partake. If however they are not keen on contributing to it, then they must rather continue attending their show and shine events and other park off's to pose by their cars...
A few weeks ago I took part in the Alfa Romeo Edenvale dealership hosted Rally. It was a brilliant event, organised by passionate individuals and one of the better ones I attended / took part in. For R300 my navigator and I drove for about 280km in and around Jhb.There where a couple of pit stops in between where guys could catch up and sorts. At the end of the day we all end up back at the dealership where dinner was served and prizegiving was held.
Pitty that the MMR convoy was not a success, but then again they are not the only magazine publication who've dropped people at the last minute and not fulfilled on their promises /duties /committments...
Nuff said!!!!

Re: Our weekly run to Zwartkops-
Agree too much waiting but the day was fun, got to meet a lot of new mates had a blast at the casino! Only got home at 2 am. You guys should have come to the casino. Remember getting control if 150+ cars and keeping everybody happy is almost impossible I think you just wound up a bit tight mr henning lol. Still a nice little drive there that stood out most.

Re: Our weekly run to Zwartkops-
Our run to Zwarties today was epic ! Lots of fun hand by John and myself, the cars running awesomely and us behaving like loonies as well. Lots of side ways action and hooliganism ..
A black GTi Golf played along for a few kays but chickened out..
Motor show was good, nice hot weather and some nice cars.
All in, a real good day in our cars..
