Re: Project Greenstone.
Latest update...........just cannot believe the cost of parts on these fcukin engines !!!
Re: Project Greenstone.
[quote="BigKriss"]You okes will be surprised at how relatively cheap the RB30 build is vs the RB26.
The stroker crank obviously added a lot more but Rand for Rand with an RB25 or RB26 head, the RB30 /25 /26 is way cheaper to do than a proper RB26 engine.
The RB30 base can easily start running away cost wise if you are not careful though .
I managed to buy an original non tampered with RB26 head for R7k. The stuff that goes into it is what bankrupts you....[/quote

Re: Project Greenstone.
Every few days my head bloke calls with something else. This was supposed to be a freshen up of the std. head thing.
Then we decided 17 year old valves are perhaps not a good idea...and that is when the sh*t started...
Base head R7k.
Valves-R8k.
Springs-R8K.
Retainers-R5k
Cams-R9k
Now the base circle on the Jun cams are 29mm.
New solid followers from Toyota-R5K !
+ R 14500.00 for the porting and build so far...
R56500.00 for the head so far !!!!!!! Fcuk !

May I just repeat what I've said previously...

Re: Project Greenstone.
Another update here.....got everything at home and worked out cr`s and stuff...
I want at least 9.5:1 cr but with the flat top pistons I can only realistically see 8.2:1 !
This peeves me off no end as I specifically asked for domed pistons so I could tailor the cr..
Then of course number 1 goes and fucks up the economy.
So my new pistons that I'm waiting for rips me another hole through the wallet ! Aargh !
Brought in new clutch discs for the Nismo clutch , pre number 1 fuck up thankfully....
Brought the car home last week so I could do some work on her while I'm off ..
