SR20VE vs G5 GTI

Finally got a Run against a G5 GTI (with R32 twin pipe style) with the VE.
We both pulled away slowly, I give the VE a little rev and I hear the G5 plant it, I do the same.
1st Gear – I’m about 1\2 car ahead
2nd Gear – The gap stays around the same
3rd Gear – Start Edging him but then had to slam on brakes hard
Was a good Run

Was this on Bremmer st. (SP)?
I know a guy who works in Rosslyn that drives that way everyday. He has a G5 GTI with a R32 rear bumper and the twin pipes (amongst other cars)
I remember back in the day giving plenty of fancy new G5 GTI's a run for their money down Bremmer (SP) until one day a standard looking one absolutely destroyed me...haven't run a G5 GTI since lol
