Oh small update

Ive been working every nights with the 1st 2jz sx i got

new pump and seal is in, but while working under , i wasnt happy with the wiring protection getting melted so i re routed everything away from the turbo manifold side, moved the fuse box, Alot of time and effort
double checked every nut and bolt

Will start it up this weekend, hopefully she hold the seal

What i was really impressed about was the sump, it was clean no sludge at all, everything looks really clean, think i may have a really good engine

will post a vid on start up

oh sorry if i confused anyone

this is the first sx i built with andre, Its been lying in storage for a couple of months, sold it to a buddy and now things went sour. so i got it back

as for the second one which is Riaans Project, as usaual Andre takes about 6months to finish

apparently the engine is in but , no pics yet

GREAT NEWS, IT STARTED UP, AND Idling SMooth

Tomorrow i install the screamer pipe, as Andre Messed up and did not fit
any thing to the wastegate, its just open,

going to have to make a pipe up and fit it

Then i drive it and i pray that the seal holds

Okay so its been a while , been really busy

Lets just say everything failed

I finanly gave it to gary, and he managed to sort the seal problem out, not sure how he did it but it worked, i have dropped the rev limit to 6000rpm
as gary says my injectors ar maxing out somewhere there at 0.8 bar

so im not sure what will happen at 7500rpm as Andre reckons they pop at 7500rpm.. but thats were i should be reving with that big ass turbo

i still dont feel its fast, its gota a truck load of off boost torque, when it gets into boost its like a m3,,its linear, no sudden whiplash, just acceleration and screaming and a hiding 2 any 4pipe m3 around

Its been a couple of weeks now its been reliable, drove it to work and around durbs for a week, its liter than my 540 on fuel so i thinks its about 12l/100kms off boost....lol

still have a few plans to make the engine bay look nicer, mainly that horrid tappet cover

Ive taken the bumpers and wheels of the car in jhb and put them on this one, as that one will be the animal and deserves the kit

had to try an temp fix the holes Rian cut in,
heres some pics

i had the kit bumpers on but ive swop them with the car in JHB
ill try to keep this car as stock looking as possible, they need to be painted
again, as they dont match the white on this car, also need to paint the bootlid

Image

Image

looking better after puting the stock bumpers on proply and some 17" wheels, they are way to small for the car 205/40/17

but the grip was slighly better

i hate those big holes in the from bumper, they look kak

any ideas guys, i put in some mesh, but still looks kak

I go through gears very quickly and fifth feels like fourth, i think my ratios are out. so im gona try 18" wheels to see if that makes any diff
im using the r154 gbox, does anyone know if the ratios, are not suitable for the 13 diff or not

Hennie had a set for sale, they not the best looking, but dam the tires are worth if, Goodyears,, like new

will put them on this weekend
Image

next up is a set of lower and stiffer springs, anyone got some for sale

heres a small vid, will get someone ro help make a decent one

Gary has driven the car alot,,, so if you wanna know what it feels like ask him, it would be nice to compare to rats Rb25 when he is done, as that was the route i would have went, but it worked out cheaper going the 2jz

gota say parts are so much cheaper and more available, all you need is the part number go to toyota dealership and the guy will order it
I paid R1650 for a new oil pump from toyota

As for the other SX.... andre is really something else,,, should be finished in 6 months

RAT: so when are you starting with the conversion
i almsot went Rb25 beacuse i couldnt find another Rb26, and at that time i couldnt find a Rb25 for less that R14k, and the 2jz was 13k, i know its sounds silly leaving a Rb25 becasue it was R1000 more, but i was looking for the most power i could get on a stock engine, and after some quick resarch and plenty fone calls, 2jz seems liked the better option, if you dont mind driving a Nisota, or toysan

but it will be nice to see how your setup runs against mine
