FMIC Fitting - Howto... 56K be ware
Howsit all, since I've seen so many guys doing / wanted to do a FMIC... here is how I did it...
300x600x76 IC from Turbo & Nos
One of the inlets 76mm
In one of the tanks
Side tank shot
IC stand alone
Preparing to remove the bumper at my bud, Martin's house
Removing the bolts, there are a view hidden quite deep into the arch and its a bitch to reach
Bumper removed, you can see the actual "Crash" bumper, I decided to keep mind and just mod it, incase of a fender bender my car won't crumple the whole car, a pic later will show how I had to mod it to fit
IC mounted, we used 3mm flat bar to mount the IC, the top mounting brackets mounted to the same place where the hooters go
Left side outlet, note how it clears the toe linkage
Inlet, one can still see the old IC ducting
Clearance between the radiator and IC, if you look closely you'll see the bottom mounting brackets
Modded bumper, not the piece I had to cut out in order to refit the bumper over the IC
Front view of the IC, note the top mounting brackets
Cold pipe, you'll note that my battery is missing, that is because I moved it to the boot, I also needed to make a hole in the old battery holder for the cold pipe to come through
Cold pipe through battery holder
A pic of the enlarged hole at the hot pipe side
Complete fit... Not shown in any of the pictures is the water washer bottle on the left hand side, this was moved in order to have the cold pipes run through, I had my pipes specifically bend in order for the bottle to fit
Hot pipe side, NO MORE WMIC Yeah
Top view of the hot pipe
Top view of the cold pipe
In order to fit the bumper back on, we needed to cut away some of the ducting, the bumper is made from polyurethane and we used a simple Handheld angle grinder. Wear some masks the smell is really horrible, we got lekka high from it
My bud Andre working his magic
All cutting done, note how much of the bumper we removed
Unfortunately I never took a pic of the completed project... Will do so soon
