Yowsit,

So today is my first day on the forum and I'm glad to be here.

Could somebody give me an idea of what I could find a running SX for?

Would I find something for 30-35k

Not worried about whether it's CA or SR, I just need to start with something.

Any ideas, young Sirs?

You've come to the right place . Keep an out in the "cars for sale" and you've now posted in the wanted section. Good job

you will find a sx for 30k but will be broken or in rough condition for something clean you looking at 50 upwards maybe get away with 40k

Prepare yourself, even a clean sx for around 50k might have problems, in my years in most cases, a turbo goes or this or that right after you bought it, be realistic and realize that it will need time and money....and it will be worth it if you have a real passion for this car.

Yeah, I hear what you guys are saying.

I suppose saving up for about 50k would be a better idea.

Because let's face it, most of them would have been thrashed and slightly modified and for 35k-40k I'm probably looking at spending another 20k.

Dude you are right. You can pick up one for 35k but you will easily spend 20k to get it to a decent running car. Even if you bought a clean one for 100 you will still need to spend a bit on it to get it lekke because they are old cars that have been played with

Ja I hear you. I'm going to have to be prepared to spend a bit but I'm willing to because I'd like it to be my second car. Like a project.

That's alright. My advice would be to get one that's in good running condition that you can still drive and enjoy and then do further upgrades when you can

Welcome!

Have a look at the 200sxOwners Club of SA FB site, lots for sale there.

Don't rush into buying a SX, ask as many questions and be prepared to spend a bit of cash on getting the car, the way you want. Generally, they all need a bit of TLC.

Good luck and keep us posted.

Howsit!

Thanks so much. I'm glad to be here.

Okay I'll do that. Thank you for the heads up.

Yes I think taking my time would be the best option.

That's true, after all, they're old cars.
