We used 8sqm of alcantara which is running at R5,5k per square... Fucking ridiculous increase in price of it over the last three years... Interior took 240 man hours to assemble.... Just lots if cash... When it's finally finished it will be awesome!!!

While we source all of the stuff for the engine rebuild we decided to start the external cosmetic work... lets just say that stripping was a very interesting exercise and a whole bunch of new issues popped up....
First thing that popped up was how badly the bumper support had been hack to fit the intercooler.
There is absolutely NO support across 2/3rds of the support. We will need to fabricate something to give it something to brace the central bumper to. The grill attachments have also been cut out....
Under the rear rocker panel covers we found our old friend tinworm...
One of my personal favourites... the "professionally fabricated" fender upper bumper mount...
Not to mention that none of the trim was removed the last time it was sprayed so we have the joy of stripping all this crap off before we can start laying clean paint...
Add to that the botch job done on Hicas elimination and general poor state of everything....
Oh well... onward and upward...
Later
Nick

Started the hard work with reference to the body.
The body has been masked off and panels are being prepped. The rust has been cut out and the bonnet and boot stripped.

We have been finishing the R33 for the last two weeks. The Motec is now installed and it's been on two dyno sessions to clean up the tuning...
On the R32 the rear glass goes in and the bonnet go on next week.
We have prepped the replacement motor with replacement maintenence parts (oil pump, water pump, cam belt etc) and will do the swap in the next few weeks. Once the "bad" motor is out we will start forging the bottom end and eventually drop it back into The R32.
I am however very excited to the R33 complete after the install of is OS88 gearbox and Motec ECU and electronic throttle...
I also made a "Little" purchase a short while back...
