so i only decided to take of the side arm rest panel after everything else, was thinking of leaving it in

its just attached on the floor by 1 or 2 screws







then its just prying it of on the top below the window, and around where its connected, it just has expanding clips, it takes some force, you can try pushing the clips to make it easier to remover but you can just pull it off if your care full keeping the clips fine





then its done and can be removed, how it looks

almsot done with the interior, next is taking of the interior piece that covers the back of the boot and the tail lights

to remove the bottom fabric half the are some screws that need to be removed, then it simple comes off







we then encounter some more of those plastic rivets that need to be pried/flat screw drived, forced off, these fasten the last plastic trim bit





all done

so finally the last step to removing my back interior was to removing the piece of trim on the boot lid

it was just the plastic rivets that keep it in place, these ones seem to brake upon removal and are different to the others, a single piece rivet, i think if your gentle you could save them but not an issue for me as i doubt it wil be going back on ever





here is it removed





and here concludes my interior removal from the back of the front seats to the rear of the car



all in all its really simple and reversible if desired, it took longer to post then to actually do

ha ha .. i enjoyed stripping my 13 all those years ago.

Out of interest... why you stripping? Personally id keep the rear passenger door panels in place.. keeps the car looking neat and they weigh next to nothing.

I tend to agree with Driftz.... the weight saved is marginal in comparison to how neat it keeps everything looking.

Unless your building a dedicated race car

been hectically busy but things should commence in about 2 months again, been such a long gap/brake whatever

still happening, just had more pressing issues to deal with and had no time for the sx
full steam ahead at the end of the year

The car is going to be used primarily as a toy, and the will be a full roll cage going in in the future (i really want to make a safe car), also as neat as it does look with the back interior i really like a crisp newly sprayed stripped interior look in this application so am going that route, and ive always wanted to strip an sx and learn where everything goes

so hopefully more progress soon.....

so im back working on the car,

started removing the engine, first i removed the bumper and bonnet, lost the pics, but its really simple, this frees up space to work

then first up i would start removing stuff from the intercooler backwards,

taking of the intercooler and boost pipes is simple,

so first there are brackets holding it in place on the top that you remove







then on the bottom of the cooler there are brackets to that you unbolt and remove, the intercooler is then held on by your boost pipes





then you remove the silicone rubbers joining the boost pipes to your intercooler end tanks and remove the cooler





you then work your way up the boost pipes to all the silicone joints connecting your boost pipes, removing as you go along

hot side/turbo side







lastly by the turbo





then cold side





then disconnect vacuum lines from bov and the other intake one



then lastly disconnect the last piece by the throttle body



thats all for the intercooler

next up was removing the induction pipe and Maf
again simple

first i removed the plug connector to the jecs unit





then i removed the maf plug connector, has a pin/clip







then removed the hose connecting to the vale cover (sorry not sure if its a breather hose or what)







then you disconnect the induction pipe from the turbo and remove the entire induction pipe, maf and filter as one

easy peas

so next was the radiator and fan shroud,
i lost a couple pics and some were to hard to take but here we go

first i un bolted the upper fan shroud bolts from the radiator where the radiator top mounts are









the rest of the fan shroud bolts are along the side and bottom but you can get a picture of them, but are easy enough to find

then underneath the radiator there is a bung that you can drain the radiator
be sure to put something underneath to catch it all, it should flow steadily out









after that i took of the expansion tank hose











then was to take of the upper radiator hose















then disconnect the bottom hose



then i removed the top radiator brackets to remove the radiator and fan shroud







you then maneuver the radiator and shroud out of the engine bay
lastly i removed the expansion tank







wow sooo many fotes, good luck slow internet like mine

so next up was the bumper stiffener



its just bolted on either side to the chasis
mite modify it and put it back on or make something new based on it

next up is the aircon removal, quite a lot of photos so going to start on the next page....
