Its about SABS, if the car did not come out with that part it is not SABS approved therfor not roadworthy. Thats why i say if they want to nail you they can.
they can choose the sabs law or the traffic act, what ever suits them.
If they catch you and the cars is changed in any way they can can 'impound' the car and make you roadworthy it.

Typical ANC government... Cant even provide the nation with a finite law where one set of rules applies to everything and everyone... I'm sure that proper legal advice on this can be obtained and contested should one of these GS or Metro pigs wanna take away your disc.

Sorry I bailed on the run after we left from Wynands workshop. I would cry my eyes out if they took my baby so I did not want to take any chances. It feels to me that they are picking on us, because our cars are deferent and stands out compared to what else is on the road. It still doesn’t make sense to me how the officers are allowed to decide based on no knowledge of the car component under scrutiny at the time what is legal and what is not.

Personally I would like to see one of those ghost squad and flying squad golf’s go thru the same scrutiny. If I remember correctly those golf’s ECU’s were remapped and a number of other things were changed since they left the VW factory.

It seems I’ll have to park the car and turn it into an all out track car in the near future.

We were just unfortunate to be at the wrong place on Sunday morning. They usually park next to N2 to stop bikes. Sorry for the 2 guys that got there lisence discs taken off.
Had no problems after we left there.

A few of the toyota 86 guys are getting together tomorrow 5/05/13 and any car is welcome. Come guys it will be leka seeing some of you guys there.
Meeting at Caltex garage in waterfront at 9:30 and leaving to go to Campsbay Houtbay and eating at the Fish on the rocks in Houtbay.
