vaccume solinoid
hey guys on a ca18dethere is a control solinoid that controls the fuel pressure ... can any ine tell me or show me how the vaccume lines are hooked up?? its on the passanger shock tower ... i know one vaccume goes to the fpr and one goes to the intake pipe on the turbo and another one goes to the inlet manifold but on the solinoid im not sure which one goes where.

Re: vaccume solinoid
It doesn't control your fp, only your boost to a certain extend, smoothing it out a bit.
You can bypass it completely.

Check the ecu for fault codes. This is always step number 1.

Re: vaccume solinoid
im not using any of that crap, connect a vacuum line directly from the back of you intake manifold to the fuel pressure regulator, then connect a vacuum line from you wastegate actuator directly to the boost nipple on you T25 on the compressor housing, and there you go no more boost cut, ive been running my ca18 like this for over a year now and no trouble, leave that solenoid valve plugged in and i blanked off all the vacuum nipples on the solenoid valve but im sure you could just leave them open and it wouldnt matter, your fuel pump might be dying or maybe your FPR itself is leaking, i had alot of issues with my car when i bought it, stuttering and idling badly and loss of power etc, corrected timing, new walbro fuel pump, rb25 FPR, and my car was 100percent afterwards.

Re: vaccume solinoid
How do you know your car is lean or over fueling? Sounds like your fuel pump.

Look at your spark plugs:
overfueling: Black
Lean: white
Perfect: tan brown sort of color

Re: vaccume solinoid
Hey guys ok checked the spark plugs and they are tan brown colour. i havr a brand new walbro fuel pump .. when i pull off car is fine when i change to second it dies and then is fine again like it gets air or something in the fuel line or if im driving in 5th. At about 3000rpm it gets a jerk ....thats y i thought maybe its fpr.. if i boost then its fine but i cant boost all the time even though its fun
Re: vaccume solinoid
check the FPR yea, also if you havent checked the valve timing have a look at it aswell, my intake cam was a tooth out and it would cause spluttering and flat spots before boost.
Re: vaccume solinoid
Thanks troopiec. Does any1 know how to tell the difference between a fwd ca18det block and a rwd block?
