Hunting....eratic idling....dying when comming off boost...

Ok. So the new motor is in, and it is running. BUT in the mornings, it idles high, about 2300rpm, and then as the motor gets heat it drops to 800. But then it on idle it hunts between 600 and 900 rpm. Also if I come off. Boost, and not even boosting hard. Let's say just pushing her to bout 5000rpm. The rpm's drop to 300 or sometimes to 0 and the car cuts out!! It starts then with no problems at all.
On idle it will sound like a missfire sometimes. Like a small backfire......
Guys, this is realy irretating and maby a sighn of somthing worst??

No mods on this motor, it is 100percent stock.

I have checked vacuum leaks, boost leaks, injector whiring, and all other elec that I can c.....this is driving me insane!!!!!!

Other than that it drives like a dream!!!! Boosts right(for stock) and does not miss at all.....

TPS - make sure it is in the correct position. Check the FSM for a how to.

Also check for other error codes.

Have you got a external dump valve? That does does make the revs drop after boost and cause the motor to die check that your car ls timing is at 15 °

Had a df last year oin the old motor. None now. Did not have that problem with the df on at aall.....thanx jason..will let u know....

Was you old motor a SA motor and your new one a Jap import?

Both sa motors......oldf was original from factory, and. As far as I know, this one also, just from a car from the cape....

He is probably referring to the Blowoff valve.

Ok, here goes again....yes ment DV( Dump Valve)..was trying to. Read reports, reply to e-mails and type here from my phone....did not work out pretty well....lol....

Haha, o k got it.
Thought you maybe have a deferent version of sx.
Make sure your timing is 15deg at idle and set your base idle to 950.
