Re: FrankenZteins back!
New motor is pretty much ready to be dropped in... we plan to do the swop next friday...
Meanwhile ive been doing some cold air ducting that fits snug up to the IC and is almost air tight up to the Rad, fitted a bigger oil cooler and new higher pressure oil lines... also working on some turbo shielding and relocating my power steering tanks & adding a PS cooler.

Man that is coming along nicely. Cant believe how quickly you spit out another SR ready to go in. It means I have no excuse for not sorting one for mine haha.
A PS cooler is a good idea. I havent seen a single S13 go around Zwartkops without its PS fluid boiling out.

Re: FrankenZteins back!
ja i found my PS got notchy when it was hot.. hoping this will cure that. Been meaning to sit down and tend to all my cooling issues.. so this downtime has been good.
as for the SR ... without Mical it would take me way longer to do things.. he's not the best photographer tho

Looking good!!
I picked up a complete blacktop sr for R800 2 days ago. Without turbo though. Lemme know how the management runs!

B, what happened to the old engine ? Was it damaged from our runs or from before ? It ran like stink but I was a little concerned at that stage.
Like the ducting, need to do that with mine as well.
About those blue wheels....??
and yea, Mical, your`e a Trojan bud ! now fetch your bloody wheels !!

Re: FrankenZteins back!
@ BK old motors HG is blown from before our runs, we think its been blown since the first dyno tune after its initial rebuild over a year ago ... ive had to always run it on low boost but its just been getting worse n worse..
we'll run the new motor while we rebuild the old motor slowly and properly on the side. So hopefully in the end ill have 2x strong SR's
Luckily the new motor has forgies and some other goodies so it should also spin some power for us. Im really hoping to get it running lekka before SuperDrift in July!!
What about the Blue wheels?? .. wont suit a red car - IMO
Mical is plotting using a SR in his Jetski.. doesnt need wheels

Car can always be painted.................
Yea, engine was not happy at big boost. Was the oil also a problem on our run ?? Did anything change after the oil was changed ?

Re: FrankenZteins back!
no.. nothing really changed. Though most of the oil loss was attributed to the leaking timing chain cover and rear Fly Seal. Infact the leaks were so bad that the back of ther car / Tailights was covered in oil, i thinks thats what you were seeing.
With the new thicker oil It still got temp' spikes and was eating water faster & faster. Was not a healthy setup at all ... hopefully all things of the past!
