No dude work hard. Play harder
Lucky we have right people doing there jobs

Aluminum purely coz I prefer welding it. Looks better in my opinion.
But also. My theory is that, in the event of a front end. The aluminum should give in easier. Creating a kinda crumple zone before the chassis legs take the pressure.
Steel option may be too strong and cause damage to chassis

so after running into the wall at the rock couple of weeks ago.
I had a hectic time in getting the car ready for supa drift this past weekend.
broken tie rod
Bent steering rack
bent lower control arm
Some rear end cosmetic damage
after some late nights i managed to fix everything.
also got to sorting out some new rear fenders
moved the dry sump tank.
Also sorted a new air intake that doesnt kill the car and lets it breath better

Some pics

Finally got to supa drift portshepstone.
Dezzi Gutziet has really upped the bar in terms of a drift facility.
This track is mindblowing.
3rd gear pinned, initiate into a 10m drop, then flowing 30m hill climb n elevation.
its truley impressive

Hola hola
Whats up guys.

OK i appologise for not being online as often as before.
Jeesh this drifting stuff is time consuming jong!

So last event last year Supadrift Durban. I had another moment and introduction to the concrete wall. RIght rear again. This time a little harder. This time it crushed in onto my fuel cell which ruptured the fuel tank. Lucky no crispy bacon!

So it really made me rethink about alot of stuff. So i decided to rebuild the car. Literally.
So over december instead of eating and having a jolly time. i rebuilt it

And after testing last week. I finally am happy with the balance and the car is now quicker than before. Running cooler. Safer. And allows me to be more agressive with switches.

This is what i did.

Tubed the back end and moved fuel cell inside the car on the back seat. Nestled nicely inside the roll cage.
Image

Framework for new fuel tank which i made out of aluminium.

Image

Running a rear mount radiator set up for better weight distribution. The increased water volume also helps in running cooler.
Image

Tubed the front end. no radiator means nice cold air into engine. Lots of space and less weight upfornt. Also when i have a front end oopsie. Less stuff to be damged and keep me drifting.

I also redid my wiring, Previously it was a mess behind the dash.

New switch panel for starter, lights. water sprayer, wipers and ecu pumps
Image

Fabricating ram air duct for radiator.

This is a nifty little addition. Electronic steering. By using this i have eliminated power steering pump. Oil Lines and oil coolers. Took me a while to figure it out. but in the end. Im super excited about the feel of this.
