Thanks for the feedback guys, guess we will have to see. With the lifters messing around currently i dont think the lag will be too bad although i am sure my power curve will come one late....will post dyno sheets ans once everything is in and running.

Update time!

Head is fitted with the Tomei 270 deg 10.25mm cams in the 4 port head, we needed to grind the head for the cams to fit. Redone the head and found some issues with it.

Now im just waiting to finish the bottem end and then we will assemble! [smilie=200sx_2guns.gif]

What did you need to grind on the head? Still using hydraulic lifters?

Hi Gary, The lobes doesnt clear the stock head so you will need to grind away on the head as per the last pictures to make space for the lobes to run in the head. Im running the tomei solid lifters now.

Thanks man!

Iv got my T3/4 turbo. Its Gtx35 comp wheel which is a 62.5mm wheel, with a journal housing an a 58mm exh wheel. The turbo should be fine for my aims of around 500whp..if not ill go full BB GTX35

Why not go Garrett after all this money spent? GT3076 twin scroll would give 500hp...

Man looking awsome, Crazy how you had to grind the head to allow the cams to turn freely. Does the tomei product guide or spec mention having to do that? How do those solid lifters work are they shimmed Do you have to adjust valve clearance with them in some way?

Hey Gary, Gt3076 comp wheel is too small... my turbo is quite a bit bigger and can supply more than 500hp, think mine is rated to 650hp. My turbo is basically already a Garrett with the billit comp wheel and housings. Just my bearing housing is journal and my ex wheel.

The valve lifts basically look like the stock lifters but instead of a hydraulic inside it has like a valve stem on the inside and the shims fits over the valve stem. The shims needs to be measured individually and fitted to get everything nice and sorted so that each has the correct clearance.

The Twin scroll housing and ball bearing cartridge would help with spool. A 76 comp wheel should flow 500hp, even look at GTX range. I think you will have lag till after 5000rpm currently.

What are you planning on using the car for?

Remember the car was already running as it was without the solid lifters and cams with the existing turbo, and you are correct power comes in "late" compared to the smaller turbo's. The car will be for anything really, but i am focusing on high speed passes on 400 meters, 800 meters and 1kms.

i already have a Garrett GTX35 comp wheel in which exducer or "throw" is over 82mm...so like i said its allot bigger than the Gt3076, its just on a journal housing and exh wheel instead off the BB. I can definitely score some spooling with a BB cartridge and twin scroll setup but for now the setup works well enough since i will rev and make power till over 8000rpm which i need due to my longer gear ratio's. I prefer the late boost as the car is actually great to drive like it is and feels like a N/A at low rpms, at 3k it goes into positive boost.

When you say 500hp that would equate to 500hp at the crank and a higher boost to get anywhere near my goals..I'm aiming to make at least 500hp on the wheels. The Gt3076 would be fine for someone who would be happy with 350whp in my opinion.

Here is the prev dyno sheet with all the issues...im really expecting allot more this time around. You can see we only took it to 6200rpm...we should take it to 8500rpm...will see what the dyno says this time around.

Well have to see, but i estimate with the cams we would be able to see 440whp on 1.2 bar boost at 8000rpm... I recon we will need closer to 1.6 bar. If the motor is running 100% and it has a few miles on then i will maybe push it to 2 bar for a couple of runs to see what she can do.

For that dyno run we used a 50/50 mix and we did score a couple of ponies with the ethanol mix over the normal pump gas.

Also at up to 1.2 bar the car could still run normal 95 pump gas with no additives and experienced no pinging, the compression was somewhere in the 9,2:1 ration. With the other head the comp should be back to +- 8,5:1
