I only use a 10w60 oil... 10w so it goes everywhere quickly in the morning since it is thinner than 20w50. but when hot not as thin as 50w so better protection at 60w... well that's the basic explanation. I use Castrol Edge Sport ONLY and only since it is the only 10w60 I can find. the thinner oils I believe do not give the protection and lubrication the motors need. Well at least that is my opinion.

Also why would a massive oil company like castrol develop a performance oil at these weigths when a thin oil is better. I think running something like 0w40/30/whatever is looking for throuble... unless you have very sofisticated equipment that your engine is running perfectly all the time.
Rather safe than sorry I believe.

Nothing less than fully synthetic in a turbo charged engine. Look after your engine in every way possible and your engine will look after you ;)

Best oil?

Post by SilviaS13 »

My motor goes through major punishment with the drifting, as it is in boost and under load all the time. I have not had any problems with the current motor which has been in over a year and a half.
I use castrol edge sport and a full bottle of prolong.
Most of us guys at the track use that combo.
You are welcome to use what you think is best, but that is what I would suggest.
