My CA running on 3 cylinders only.

Post by SMKNG ACE »

Ok guys.

I was driving from work the other day and while cruising i hear the car starting to sound like a WRX.
Just for a half a km or so then all is fine she ran great again.
Got home and switched off.

Next morning went to shops and back about 3 km and as i pull in at home there again in 3 cylinders ever since.

What i did so far is as follows:
Checked for spark. No 4 got no spark.
Changed spark plugs.
Changed coil packs and still no 4 no spark.
Did check my CAS Fuel injectors and fuel press and a good compression test and all good.

Not sure if it can be the ignitor or a wire break in the loom somewhere ?

Need some input as this is baffling me. :?

Thanks In advance guys. [smilie=200sx_200sx.gif]

If I remember correctly there's a earth wire that earths the coils loom, make sure it's still connected.

ok did check earth but will go double check.

Reason for compression test is that i did the cylinder head last year October and thought the gasket might have blown.
Also to ease my mind that the cylinders is healthy reading about 150-160 psi.

When i have time i will go check the wiring for continuity and also check all possible earthing points.

Does it misfire all the time or when car has warmed up? Had similar issue

Yes it is constant at startup and definitely a dead cylinder.
I disconnected the fuel injector until i can sort it out.

I only drive if it is extremely important.

 Give back my cylinder ...
