Re: ecu options
Yip, works for me. I am to old to learn about all these things!!! I suppose a Nistune system that works in conjunction with your stock ECU will be a better option as it will cover all of the parameters etc, but the Dicktator was just easiest for me. That's why I said I am waiting for the kaboom!! I ...

Re: ecu options
Smash, it is a wasted spark. I do not know what features I have lost, but the car goes fine, so far. I am sort of waiting for something to go boom, but lucky not yet. Dynotech in Cape Town did the install and dyno tuning. Maybe not the most sophisticated system out there, but it replaces virtually a...

Re: Looking for a CA18det engine
Yes, got a complete one with 40 000km genuine mileage on it. Done an SR20 conversion. Have had offers but no money in bank, so still available. Motor and box are 100% complete. ECU, radiator, FMIC, pipes etc all to go.

Re: Oil filter shoot out!!! WTF!!!
Z197 on mine. Fits perfect. Just check the size of the base on the filter housing. My car had a smaller filter on when I got it, but it just covered the base. I got a Z197 and used them for the last 10 000km's and no problems.

Re: Finally did it
Not sure what the CA18 made, but it was stock and a whole lot more pleasant to ride than the SR20. There is a horrible vibration when decelarating in 4th gear at about 2500rpm, but apparently this is from the stronger clutch, according to all of the overseas forums. The car goes like a bat out of he...

Finally did it
 Well, the SR20 Blacktop and gearbox is in! Goes like hell when the GT2860 winds up. Dynorun shows 204kw and 356nm. A little bit rougher than the CA18, but the increase in power more than makes up for it. Expensive business, doing this. Parts fitted: SR20 Blacktop engine and box Megan ally radi...
